Jun Takamatsu is from Japan and is studying TAFY at our Auckland campus.

"My name is Jun Takamatsu, but people call me Jun. I am from a city called Chiba which is in Japan. Chiba is an industrial city with a population of 6 million. Chiba is where Japan’s only Disneyland is located. The one thing I miss about being away from my county is our TV programs.

I have been in New Zealand nearly two years. I used to attend another language school in Auckland before coming to Taylors College. I have had a great time living in Auckland. Since I have been in New Zealand I have done a bit of travelling. I have visited places like Taupo, Rotorua and Hastings. Kiwis are very helpful and friendly people. My homestay family are a good example of this. Something exciting I have done since I have been here is Bungee jumping, both in Taupo and in Albert Street. I have also learned a lot of English since I have been here. I spoke little or none before I came.

Taylors College teachers are very nice, I particularly enjoy Binh’s classes. Binh teaches me Maths and Computer Studies. The course of study I am taking is English Accounting, Economics and Maths A. Economics and Maths A are the most difficult studies i am taking. I would like to continue teaching English at University when i am finished my studies. My favourite University is the Univeristy of Auckland. Hopefully my friend Wit will be joining me there (he hopes)."
