Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Taylors College Melbourne wishes to congratulate all of the Year 12 (VCE) students in 2008 for their achievement.

Out of 219 students, 23% of students were placed in the top 10% of the state. 79% of students were successful in gaining a tertiary offer through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre. The remainder were eligible for direct offers and offers from interstate and overseas universities.

83% of eligible students received an offer from Monash University with the remainder of students being eligible for places at other universities and diploma pathways.

"I studied the Monash University Foundation Year program (MUFY) at Taylors followed by a Bachelor of Marketing at Monash University. I finished my degree in late 2002.

MUFY was a very good course to prepare me for university. The teachers at Taylors helped me quickly adapt to the new life. They would not speak too fast in class, and this helped a lot of overseas students gain confidence in speaking English.

I am now working as a Senior Financial Advisor at AIA Hong Kong. I manage a team of 11 people, advising clients how to manage their assets in investment and risk management. My experience in Taylors and Monash made me quickly adapt to meeting many different people in business."

VCE Dux 2006

Tian Hui Ting

Tian Hui Ting from Australia was the Dux of Taylors College Melbourne for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2006.

She obtained an outstanding ENTER score of 99.6, placing her at the top 0.4% of students in Australia.

"I chose Taylors College because my older brothers had studied at Taylors before me and they loved it.  Now that I've graduated, I'm glad that I made the correct decision.

I'll be doing a double degree of Biomedical Scence/Electical Engineering at Monash University.  After I graduate, I'm sure that I'll be able to find an interesting and challenging job as a Biomedical Engineer.

I would strongly recommend Taylors College to any prospective students.  My advice is, enjoy your time at Taylors to the fullest!  I know I did. :)"

"I wanted to study medicine at Monash, and Taylors, with MUFY, allowed me the best way to get there. 

One of the many things I loved about Taylors was the teachers.  Always helpful and ready to cater to your special needs, they never turn down queries.

Taylors also equipped me with useful tools for university: skills in self-studying, researching, referencing, teamwork, confidence and responsibility - all of which are important in my new role as a medical student.

My year at Taylors has been the single best year of my life, and I bet it would be for other students too!"

"It is my great honour to be the MUFY Dux 2005 but it was not only my personal effort.

Taylors College provided me with a lot of support through the MUFY coordinator, subject teachers,my Mentor, the IT and pastoral staff. I was given a lot of valuable advice and assistance, especially when I encountered obstacles in my study. I enjoyed the small group tutorials which prepared me well for tests and exams.

MUFY Duxes - September 2005

Congratulations to our two Duxes, Wong Ming Wan and Go Aulia, who both achieved a score of 380/400. 

Wong Ming Wan also achieved the highest individual score in both Chemistry and Computer Science across all providers, and has been offered a place in the Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Go Aulia has been offered a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University.
