"I chose to study at Taylors College Perth because it was well known for its academic outcomes and I felt it was the best pathway for me to study Medicine at UWA.
I enjoyed studying here at the campus, not only do I get to meet students from around the world, the facilities here are really great and I definitely know that the teachers are up for the challenge in preparing us all for university. I think the teachers here are all very professional and each are very knowledgeable and skilled in their own disciplines."
Chitra Ravi Mandalam, UWAFP Valedictorian, 2008
"One year ago, I was moving away from home for the first time, to a country which spoke a foreign, unfamiliar language. For me, the first three weeks in Perth were filled with a homesickness I had never felt in my eight years outside India.
However, that very loneliness and trepidation was a uniting force for me and my friends. Within weeks it was clear that we all shared the same anxiety and stress of starting a new life. Although I will not say that academically things in Taylors College got easier, the very challenge this institution posed on us was a welcome one. Up until then, I had been used to a setting where teachers assisted us in every way they could with our assignments and study. Coming to Taylors College was in that sense, a ‘culture shock’. Suddenly, it was up to me to hand in my assignments. If I didn’t understand something, I had to find out from my teachers in the tutorial sessions.
My one year at Taylors College taught me a lot from learning how to read bus timetables to writing a good research report. The truly international setting offered in this institution has widened my horizons, making me a more socially aware citizen of the world."
"Studying at Taylors prepared me for university life as it was like an intermediate level in the transition from high school to university style education. Coming from an Asian country, rote-learning was the way to go. However, my experience in Taylors has taught me that critical thinking and other soft skills are more important in higher levels of education. Thus, making me more prepared for my studies in UWA especially in the Engineering course where critical thinking skills are essential."

"I chose to study at Taylors College because it is well known for its academic outcomes as well as the fact that it provided a unique pathway into The University of Western Australia. Some of the things that I enjoyed most were the small intimate classes I had which provided a great opportunity to really discuss different topics with my teachers. I always asked a lot of questions, but it was this type of interaction with the teachers at Taylors that helped me to learn and motivated me to work harder and become a skilled student.
At last, I would like to thank all the teachers at Taylors for the support that they gave me during my study. Studying at Taylors College was the best experience in my academic life! It has opened the door to my dream of studying Medicine at university. "
Taylors College would like to congratulate the Dux of the College, John NGUI Wei Khang who has achieved the highest UWAFP score out of the entire cohort.
John's score of 389 is also the highest in UWAFP history.

"The days spent at Taylors College Perth in UWAFP have to be the most memorable of my stay in Perth. Learning and studying in Taylors proved to be an extremely worthwhile and enjoyable experience because of the cultural vibrancy of the school. Being an international college, I had the opportunity to mix and bond with people from all across the globe and discover their various cultural differences, not to mention build lasting friendships.
The friendly teachers at Taylors were all exceptional in their own right and never had a problem helping us understand even the more complicated aspects of a subject. Looking back, I am very grateful for being given the opportunity to study at Taylors, which along with wonderful staff and students provided a caring and supportive environment for me to excel in."
Dominic Tan, Dux, UWAFP Sept 2005

"Perth city was beautiful, my homestay was friendly and Taylors College was just wonderful.
The teachers at Taylors College Perth were great. Actually they were the best teachers that Ive ever met. They were knowledgeable, kind, patient, responsible and funny.
I made a lot of friends in Taylors College, they came from many different countries like China, Singapore, Thailand and India. We studied together, had lunch after class, played soccer after school and partied on the weekend.
They were the most precious experiences and I have unforgettable memories of my time at Taylors."
Perth prides itself as being the sunniest and friendliest Australian city.
