The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) September/October 2007 Results
Congratulations to all USFP students on their outstanding achievements in the program and excellent results. Students studying in the September/October programs have achieved exceptionally well, as
follows:
- 81% of the students received offers to the University of Sydney, with the remainder of students being eligible for places at other universities and diploma pathways. 335 students completed the program
- 53% of these students were offered their first preference
- 24 students obtained a GPA of 9.0 and above with the DUX achieving an outstanding 9.9
- 78.8 % of the students achieved a GPA greater than 6.5 and were eligible for entry to the University of Sydney
- 12 students were offered a place in the Combined Law Programs
- 4 students were offered a place in Medical Science as a pathway to the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney.
The most popular destination was the Faculty of Business and Economics which attracted 43% of the students. There was a significant increase in interest in the B International Studies.
The most outstanding performance in September/October 2007 Program was the DUX, SHIEH, Chun Chien who achieved a GPA of 9.9 and was offered the a place in the B Science (Advanced) program. He has also been invited to participate in the Talented Students Program at the University.
Scholarships awarded
- SHIEH, Chun Chien was also awarded a Merit Scholarship for the September/October 2007 cohort
- CHOW Lai Yu was awarded the Sue Harlen Merit scholarship based on her academic excellence, communication and leadership skills and is aiming to study Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney
- LYE Qiao Ling and WONG YuenWai were also awarded Merit scholarships on this occasion

Students studying in the these programs have achieved exceptionally well.
- 82% of the students received offers to the University of Sydney with the remainder of students being eligible for places at other universities and diploma pathways
- 65.7% of these students were offered their 'ideal' first preference. The most popular destination was the Faculty of Business and Economics which attracted 39.6% of the students
- 9 students were offered a place in the Combined Law Programs
- 6 students were offered a place in Medical Science as a pathway to the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney.
