The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) 2008 Results

Students in the University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) continue the tradition of excellence. 81% received offers to study at the University of Sydney. The remainder were eligible for places at other universities and tertiary institutions.

Performance Statistics

• 100% were offered a tertiary place
• 81% of USFP students received an offer to the University of Sydney
• 68% received an offer for their first preference at the University of Sydney
• 9% achieved a GPA of 9.0 and above
• 92% achieved a GPA greater than 6.5 and were eligible for entry to the University of Sydney
• 19% were eligible for a place at another Australian University or Diploma pathway.

The Faculty of Business and Economics attracted 44% of students. The highly competitive faculties of Pharmacy and Architecture, each attracted 3%. 17 students were offered places in the Combined Law Programs and 11 students in Medical Science as a pathway to the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney.

Scholarships

The top student QU, Fang Yun from China achieved a GPA of 9.8 and was offered a place in the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney. QU, Fang Yun was awarded the prestigious Sue Harlen Merit Scholarship, valued at $10,000, for her academic excellence, communication and leadership skills.

LIU Yun, YU Libin and TING Wei Loon (Lucus) were awarded the USFP Board Merit Scholarships, valued at $5,000 each.
