How to choose a Foundation course and start date

  1. Find the undergraduate degree you wish to study using the University’s minimum entry requirements for undergraduate studies tables below.

    Use the same table to check which stream and subjects are compulsory and/or recommended for your undergraduate course.
  2. Check the Foundation program entry requirements to see what the requirements are for each intake.
  3. Choose a program intake that is suitable for you based on your undergraduate course and your eligibility for entry.

 

Example - Taylors Auckland Foundation Year

You want to study the Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Auckland.

  1. Find the Bachelor of Commerce in the Minimum entry requirements for undergraduate studies table (PDF 65KB)
  2. To study for the Bachelor of Commerce, you'll need to take Mathematics.
  3. Using the Program comparison table check to see what intakes offer Mathematics.
  4. Check the Foundation program entry requirements to see if you meet the intake requirements.

Example – The University of Sydney Foundation program

You want to study the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney.

  1. Find the Bachelor of Commerce in the Minimum entry requirements for undergraduate studies table (PDF 68KB)
  2. To study for the Bachelor of Commerce, you’ll need to take the Economics/Commerce stream and study Economics and Accounting as elective subjects
  3. Using the Program comparison table check to see what intakes offer the Economics/Commerce stream and Economics and Accounting electives.
  4. Check the Foundation program entry requirements to see if you meet the intake requirements.

Example – The University of Western Australia Foundation program

You want to study the Bachelor of Computer Science (Commerce) at The University of Western Australia.

  1. Find the Bachelor of Computer Science (Commerce) in the Minimum entry requirements for undergraduate studies table (PDF 61KB)
  2. To study for the Bachelor of Computer Science (Commerce), you'll need to take Mathematics.  In addition, Accounting and Economics are recommended subjects. 
  3. Using the Program comparison table check to see what intakes offer Mathematicss, Accounting and Economics. 
  4. Check the Foundation program entry requirements to see if you meet the intake requirements.
