University of Western Australia Foundation Program

Your most effective pathway to the University of Western Australia (UWA) is via the University of Western Australia Foundation Program (UWAFP).

  • UWAFP students are guaranteed entry to UWA if they meet the requirements at the end of the program.
  • In 2014 90% of our students received offers from UWA and each year nearly 100% receive an offer from a tertiary institution.
Programs
Standard (40 weeks) >
The UWAFP Standard program would suit you if you’ve achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects.
16 subjects; IELTS required - 5.5
Intensive (30 weeks) >
If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, then the UWAFP Intensive program is for you.
16 subjects; IELTS required - 5.5
Extended (60 weeks) >
The UWAFP Extended program is designed for students who do not qualify for the Standard program, or who want to develop a more solid foundation in key subjects such as Mathematics or the Sciences.
16 subjects; IELTS required - 5.0

The combined educational expertise of UWA and Taylors College has been used to create UWAFP – providing you with an ideal academic stepping stone into university-level studies. We offer a range of start dates throughout the year to suit your timing, academic level and planned university degree.

Access to UWA Facilities
As a UWAFP student you will have access to UWA resources and facilities, including the library, Student Guild and clubs and societies.

Flexible study options
UWAFP offers a flexible unit-based course structure. You can choose new units to study each term and build a program that is more suited towards your university and career goals.

A smooth transition to university
When studying UWAFP, you will learn how to study independently, work in groups, become leaders, conduct research and deliver presentations – all the skills necessary for success at university.
