Extended Accounting

This course aims to provide you with an introduction to accounting method and to relate your learning to Australia’s conceptual framework or theory of financial reporting in a way which is challenging, rigorous and emphasises both theory and practice.

It will introduce and reinforce the fundamentals of physical, organic and inorganic chemistry in a way designed to establish the basic theoretical and practical skills required for first year courses at Monash University.

Extended Economics

This course aims to introduce basic economic concepts, ideas and methodology.
You will examine the economic problem of scarcity and the problem of resource allocation. Students will be able to understand and explain real world economics issues through the use of diagrams, data analysis and evaluation techniques.

Computer Science

This curriculum is designed to provide students with the fundamentals in computing. The course will be supplemented with exercises that will develop profi ciency in computing practice.

This course offers students the chance to gain a working knowledge of what computers are and the fundamental things for which computers are used. Students will learn the use of spreadsheets to perform various calculations. They will also learn to create web pages and graphics using web authoring tools and appropriate graphics software. There will be theoretical concepts to master. Students will be trained to master the practical aspects of the applications used in the course. Practical skills acquired include proficiency in the use of major applications such as web authoring tools, graphics software, presentation software and spreadsheets. Students will acquire the basic skills necessary to operate a computer and to organise files in their disk space.

Extended Mathematics

This course has been designed for students who have completed Year 11 (or equivalent) studies in Mathematics. It introduces and reviews essential content in algebra, graph-sketching, coordinate geometry probability and statistics that are later covered more comprehensively in the standard MUFY Mathematics course. It is designed to develop your knowledge, skills and techniques in these areas so as to strengthen your mathematical background to a level sufficient to ease their transition into the current MUFY Mathematics course of

Extended Advanced Mathematics

This course has been designed for the more mathematically able students who have completed Year 11 (or equivalent) studies in Mathematics.

The course must be taken in conjunction with Extended Mathematics and prepares students for the standard MUFY. Advanced Mathematics course which will ultimately lead to undergraduate studies in Enginnering and Computing. It introduces and reviews essential content in circular functions, vectors and calculus which are later covered more comprehensively in the standard MUFY Advanced Mathematics course. It is designed to develop your knowledge, skills and techniques in these areas so as to strengthen your mathematical background to a level sufficient to enhance your understanding of MUFY Advanced Mathematics.
