MBBS Application Procedure
International Student Admissions Test (I.S.A.T)
International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) is a three-hour multiple choice test. The test focuses on the generic and cross-curricular skills that underpin academic performance. ISAT is not a test of subject-specific knowledge. Rather, it aims to assess candidates’ cognitive ability, and Critical and Quantitative Reasoning skills.
- Critical Reasoning – comprehending and analysing information; understanding, applying and extending ideas; drawing appropriate conclusions; evaluating arguments. These questions use material from the humanities and social sciences.
- Quantitative Reasoning – analysis and application of information; drawing conclusions and making decisions; solving problems. These questions use material from mathematics and the sciences.
Registering for I.S.A.T
You will need to register online to take the test at a date advised by the MUFY Tertiary Advisor – in June/July each year. The test is taken at Taylors College, an approved ISAT testing centre.
For more information visit: http://www.acer.edu.au/isat/
Interview
The interview is the second stage of the application process. ISAT scores will determine if you are offered an interview. The interview by panel aims to determine your suitability not only to Monash University MBBS but also to the medical profession.
Questions will be varied and may include topics such as your understanding of the profession and of the Monash course. You will need to show an ability to provide thoughtful and informed answers.
