Campus rules and regulations
- follow the rules, policies and procedures to speak English
- abide by the Sexual Harassment, Student Anti-Bullying and Drug and Substance Abuse policies of the College. These are set out in Program Handbooks given out to all students
- attend classes on time
- complete all assigned work
- respect the property of others
- do not abuse or damage the facilities
- behave in a courteous and respectful way to everyone in the building
- dress modestly to respect other students’ culture and beliefs
- ensure that all footwear is appropriate for safe use on fire stairways (no loose-fitting sandals can be worn)
- respect the authority of staff members and follow their directions
- ensure that no alcohol or any illegal substance or item is brought into the College
- wear their ID whilst in the building
- report any strangers without ID to any member of staff
- do not disturb other students with noise or disruptive behaviour and turn your mobile phone off while in class
- abide by a total ban on chewing gum in the building
- clean up the Student Common Room after use
- keep the college clean by using the garbage bins provided
- ensure that they do not loan money to other students without the permission of the Principal
- ensure that large amounts of money are not carried within the College
- bring problems to the attention of the Dean, Year Advisor or Head of Department quickly and help resolve them
- no smoking is permitted in any part of the College or in the vicinity of the building
- serious breaches of any of these results in a student’s enrolment being cancelled. Cancellation in such circumstances would not normally allow any refund of tuition fees paid
Your rights
- students can access the Colleges’ Support Services through contacting the Campus Student Relations Administrator at the front desk who will direct you to the relevant staff
- students can apply for Course Credit from the Dean of their Faculty
- students can determine their Enrolment Issues (deferment, suspension or cancellation) by speaking to the Campus Registrar
- students can be informed of the requirements for Satisfactory Progress in the courses they are studying by contacting the Dean of their Faculty
- students can be informed of the Attendance Requirements relevant to their Program of Study by contacting the Dean of their Faculty
- students who wish to Change Provider can make an appointment to see the Campus Director
- students who wish to avail themselves of the Complaints and Appeals Process can contact the Campus Grievance Officer.
Your responsibilities
As an overseas student on a student visa, you have responsibilities to:
- satisfy your student visa conditions
- maintain your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the period of your stay
- meet the terms of the written agreement
- inform us if you change your address
- maintain satisfactory course progress
- if attendance is recorded for your course, follow your provider’s attendance policy; and
- if you are under 18, maintain your approved accommodation, support and general welfare arrangements
