I (which expression includes the parent/guardian who has signed this contract) hereby apply to Taylors College (“the College”) the operators of the Monash University Foundation Year (hereinafter referred to as “MUFY”) to enrol in the MUFY intake as nominated on the Application for Admission (“the Application”). I agree that on acceptance of the Application by the College, the Application for Admission form will become the Contract of Enrolment (“the Contract”).
I understand that I will be enrolled at Monash University as a provisional student in the course of my first preference. I further agree that in preparation to enter the first year of that course I will undertake MUFY which is to be provided by the College. I agree that the faculties of Monash University will determine the score that I must achieve in MUFY to be admitted to the faculty of my first preference, but in the event that I do not achieve the score, Monash University may offer me a place in a faculty of lower preference or in a degree course at any of the campuses of Monash University for which the score I attained may qualify me for entry.
I agree to pay to the College the tuition fees and other charges applicable for my course in accordance with the payment terms detailed on this website. I further agree to pay all additional course fees and such other charges as may become payable to the College during the period of my enrolment.
The College agrees to provide tuition to me in all subjects of MUFY, conditional upon my working regularly and systematically through those subjects in accordance with instructions and provided all fees owing are paid on the due dates.
I Acknowledge That:
- Any variation of the terms and conditions of this agreement must be in writing and be signed on behalf of the College.
- It is a condition of enrolment that I attend all scheduled classes except where there is a legitimate reason for non-attendance (eg illness supported by a Doctor’s Certificate) which is
acceptable to the College. If the enrolment terminates due to a breach of this condition, I understand and agree that I am not entitled to any refund of the annual tuition fee or other charges paid under this Contract of Enrolment.
(a) All lessons and any material related thereto supplied by the College is copyright and remains the property of the College.
(b) Any unauthorised copying may constitute abreach of the Copyright Act 1968 (as amended).
(c) The material supplied shall, upon completion of the course, be returned by me to the College.
- I am required to use my best endeavours to meet the requirements of MUFY and to abide by the rules and regulations of the College for the running of the College and the conduct of students. If I breach any of the College’s rules or my behaviour is deemed unacceptable by the College, my enrolment may be cancelled and I agree that I will not be entitled to any refund of the annual tuition fee or other charges paid under this contract of enrolment.
- I understand that I may be required to attend organised College excursions and activities as part of my course. I also authorise the College to obtain medical treatment for me should such
action be deemed necessary by the College or a staff member acting on behalf of the College. I agree to indemnify the College for any expense, loss, damage or liability of whatsoever nature
occasioned as a result of authorising and arranging such emergency medical treatment.
- I agree that I am responsible for my own books, equipment and personal items and I hereby release the College from all liability and claims for loss or damage to such items, howsoever caused.
- I understand that I am required to wear Taylors College identification at all times while on campus.
- I understand that I must notify the College in writing within 7 days if I change my address
- I understand a Late Payment Fee (LPF) of AU$100 per month is payable on accounts which remain unpaid 14 days after the due date of payment
- I have read, understood and agree to the terms of the “Cancellation and Refund Policy” (below)
- I have understood the “Student Grievance Policy”.
- I understand that infringement of campus rules and regulations will result in a fine.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
- The College agrees to refund within 28 days and without deduction, all tuition and Homestay accommodation fees paid where your application for enrolment is refused by the College.
- The College agrees to refund within 28 days and without deduction, all tuition and Homestay accommodation fees paid where you produce certified evidence to the satisfaction of the College that the application made for a student visa was rejected by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citzenship (DIAC).
- The College agrees to refund within 28 days of the receipt of written notice of cancellation by you, tuition fees paid by or on behalf of you less the amounts to be retained as agreed and
detailed below:
i. If written notice is received up to four weeks before the commencement date ^ of the student’s course, 20% of the full tuition fees* for the student’s course**.
ii. If written notice is received in the four weeks prior to the commencement date ^ of the student’s course, 50% of the full tuition fees* for the student’s course**.
iii. No refund of tuition fees will be paid to the student if written cancellation is received after the commencement date of the course.
iv. Enrolment fees are non-refundable.
- I understand:
(a) the conditions under which I may become entitled to a refund of tuition fees and agree that the College may retain the amounts detailed above.
(b) that if after commencing the program, I discontinue my program before completion, I remain liable to pay the full tuition fee and any expenses, costs or disbursements incurred by the College
in recovering any outstanding monies, including debt collection agency fees and solicitors’ costs.
- In the unlikely event that the College is unable to deliver your course in full, you will be offered a refund of all the course money you have paid to date. The refund will be paid to you within 2 weeks of the day on which the course ceased being provided. Alternatively, you may be offered enrolment in a suitable alternative course by the College at no extra cost to you.
You have the right to choose whether you would prefer a full refund of course fees, or to accept a place in another course. If you choose placement in another course, we will ask you to sign a document to indicate that you accept the placement.
If the College is unable to provide a refund or place you in an alternative course our Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS) provider will place you in a suitable alternative course at no extra cost to you. Finally, if the TAS provider cannot place you in a suitable alternative course, the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager will attempt to place you in a suitable alternative course or, if this is not possible, you will be eligible for a refund as calculated by the Fund Manager.
- This agreement, and the availability of complaints and appeals processes, does not remove the right of the student to take action under Australia’s consumer protection laws.
^ Where the student has enrolled in an English Language Preparation program immediately prior to the commencement of a MUFY course, the course commencement date for the purpose of this clause will be deemed to be the English Language Preparation program commencement date.
* Where a student has enrolled in a Taylors English Language Preparation program (TELP) immediately prior to the commencement of a MUFY course, this percentage of cancellation charge is applied to both the (TELP + MUFY) courses.
** If a student withdraws from a course before commencing any study, and the College has paid an amount to a representative in relation to your recruitment, the refund will be further reduced by that amount.
Cancellation and Suspension Policy
I agree to pay the tuition fees and other charges applicable for my course on the due dates as published. I understand and agree that failure to do this may result in suspension from the program,cancellation of enrolment and visa.
Credit Card Payments
Payments made by credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) will attract a 2% surcharge.
Airport Pick Up Refunds
For cancellations less than 48 hours before arrival no refund will apply.
Publicity
Students and their parents or guardians agree that the student’s photo, details and achievements may be used for promotional purposes without written consent or notification. If you do not agree, please contact the College in writing.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OHSC)
As an international student, you must have OSHC throughout the duration of your full program. This ensures you have adequate health care arrangements whilst you are studying in Australia. If you choose for Taylors College to arrange OSHC for the first year of your program, you agree and warrant to Taylors College that you will either extend or take out OSHC for the balance of your full program.
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Refund Policy
If a student is transferring from Australian Health Management (AHM) to another provider or cancelling cover, a request must be made in writing to Taylors College.
As stated in the Australian Health Management Policy document which is sent out with membership cards, the fi rst refund for a student each calendar year is processed free of charge. Additional refunds will incur a service charge of AU$20 each time.
