Orientation

 

You must arrive in Australia at least 3-4 days before the commencement of classes so that you can attend the Taylors College Orientation program.

Your orientation day is extremely important as it is the first exciting step on your Foundation Studies pathway to University.

It is also an opportunity to make new friends and learn your way around the campus. It is essential that all students attend Orientation.

What will happen during your orientation?

During orientation program you need to ensure your enrolment details and personal details are correct. You will receive all necessary information required during your study at the Taylors College.

The orientation program includes workshops on accessing computer laboratories, visa requirements, accommodation options and other support services. Your course Timetable will also be provided to you during the orientation.

You will be advised of important procedures to be followed from the commencement of Term 1 and will be issued with your school diary, booklist and subject description booklets.

Your photo will also be taken on this day for your student identity card

Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY)

  • Monday 7th April

8.30		 Arrive at the Taylors College, Melbourne
Proceed towards the Student Common Room, 1st Floor
9:00 Welcome and introduction
10:00 Meet your new teacher and receive important documentation including your health card, medical insurance letter, diary, booklist and Personal study timetable
11:00 Receive student ID card and locker allocation
12:00 Opportunity to purchase second-hand textbooks, and tour of the campus

 

Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY)

  • Friday 4th July

8.30		 Arrive at the Taylors College, Auckland reception
Proceed towards the Student Common Room, 1st Floor
9:00 Receive official documentation
10:00 Welcome and Introduction
10:30 University of Auckland Introduction
11:15 AUT University introduction

Meet your mentor Teachers and your Mentor
Receive your timetable and orientation booklet
Receive student ID card
Opportunity to purchase course books and optional locker allocation


The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP)

8.30 am Arrive at the Taylors College, Sydney
Proceed towards the Student Common Room, Level 2
Registration, Enrolment, Student Visa Information and Elective confirmation for below groups:

8.40 am - 2:00 pm Student Family name A to L
12.30 pm - 5.00 pm Student Family name M to Z
Second day
9.00 am - 10.00 am

Elective Confirmation

10.30 am - 11.30 am Mathematics test
1.00 pm - 2.00 pm Chemistry test
2.00 pm - 3.00 pm Seminar on “What is Culture Shock?"
Third day
9.00 am - 11.00 am English test*/Study and Life Skills Personal safety

* Students are expected to achieve IELTS 5.5 or equivalent in Orientation
